Hewlett-Packard sales fall short of forecasts

Computer firm Hewlett-Packard has seen a drop in first-quarter sales, as it attempts to turn itself around under new CEO Meg Whitman.

Revenues for the three months to the end of January fell 7 percent on a year earlier to USD30 billion. Analysts had forecast revenues of USD30.67b.

Net profit for the quarter nearly halved from USD2.6b to USD1.5b.
