Canon India is aiming for a turnover of INR450 crore (INR4.5 billion, USD99 million) this year from the camera segment, almost 45 percent of its overall turnover target of INR1,100 crore (INR11 billion, USD242 million) for 2010.
The company, which has slipped to rank third in the 20 lakh (2 million) unit digital compact camera market, is relying on increased penetration in India’s tier II towns and cities. Canon is aiming to increase the camera segment’s share of its overall business to 41 percent in 2010.
