Alibaba 11.11 Update: Full-day GMV hits RMB268.4 billion

Alibaba Generated RMB268.4 Billion During the 2019 11.11

What a wild 24 hours. With the final countdown, the total GMV for Alibaba’s 2019 11.11 Global Shopping Festival was RMB268.4 billion (USD38.4 billion).

At 16:31:12 on 11 Nov, GMV exceeded RMB213.5 billion, topping the total GMV of last year’s 11.11 Global Shopping Festival. It took under 14 hours and 22 minutes for GMV to hit RMB200 billion, and around 15 hours and 57 minutes to exceed USD30 billion.

· Livestreaming: As of 1:03am on 11 Nov, GMV generated through livestreaming already surpassed last year’s full-day level. As of 8:55am, it surpassed RMB10 billion. As of 10:00am, over 50% of merchants on Tmall had used livestreaming to sell products on 11.11. Home decoration and consumer electronics categories saw more than 400% year-on-year growth in GMV generated through livestreaming in the first ten hours of 11.11.

· Logistics: In 10 hours and 18 minutes, the number of delivery orders exceeded 812 million, surpassing the total number of delivery orders of 2017 11.11.
