Advent calendars: this year’s top picks for a luxurious Christmas countdown

The most wonderful time of the year is now a bit more than a month away. Some of the major beauty and luxury brands have launched their advent calendars filled with up to 25 gifts, from jewellery and beauty products to chocolate treats and rare teas. More than ever, advent calendars are becoming a marketing tool for luxury brands to express their creativity and attract new customers in the run-up to Christmas.

Here’s a round up of some of this year’s advent calendars.

Tiffany & Co Advent Calendar

Tiffany & Co. is taking the advent calendar to the next level with a four foot tall, white oak version. Featuring artist Jean-Michel Basquiat’s 1982 painting Equals Pi, the calendar is filled with 24 individually-wrapped Tiffany gifts.

This year Swarowski launches its first ever advent calendar which is filled with 25 different, expertly crafted ornaments, of which 12 designs are exclusive to the calendar. The decorations can also be used to adorn a Christmas tree, a festive table and a window or can be displayed on Swarowski’s new Ornament Stand or the Bell Jar Display.

The French fragrance brand Diptyque calendar is designed as a “Cabinet of Curiosities” to be opened every morning in December. It contains 25 iconic products, including a selection of candles in their signature scents like Baies, Figuier and some limited festive scents.

Guerlain has also launched its first-ever advent calendar this year. The beehive-shaped box contains 25 selected skincare and beauty products, featuring the perfume L’Art et la Matière in 10 ml size. Signature scents like Rose Barbare, Cuir Beluga are included. The luxurious box also consists of Sapoceti Perfumed soaps, travel candles and the Abeille Royale skincare products which are made with honey sourced from UNESCO biospheres.

Chocolate treats are always an important festive element in Christmas Countdown. The French chocolatier La Maison du Chocolat presents their Holiday Ornament Advent Calendar. The eco-friendly box is 100 percent recyclable and made in France. The calendar features an assortment of Chocolate treats such as handmade mini chocolate bars, dark chocolate pralinés, and fruity confections.

Designed by Alice Shirley, the captivating design sees midnight blue foliage and golden buds encapsulating the House’s iconic 30 Avenue Montaigne store front. The box contains 24 deluxe miniatures, including a complete Dior addict package with J’adore and Miss Dior eau de parfum, Dior Addict lipstick and Dior Prestige serum.
