Tech firm Perfect Corp has launched a new digital e-commerce service for small and medium beauty businesses (SMBs), catering to the growing demand from these firms to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality (AR).
Dubbed ‘YouCam for Web’, the self-service program is powered by YouCam Makeup’s advanced facial recognition engine and offers small-to-medium brands the opportunity to integrate true-to-life AI and AR makeup technologies into their websites.
Already used by over 200 brands worldwide, the AR makeup try-on allows online shoppers to browse and try-on products virtually before they buy, said Perfect Corp.
“The implementation of virtual try-ons has completely reimagined the way consumers shop for cosmetics and we are so excited to create a self-service platform that will expand YouCam beauty tech solutions to even more brands,” said Perfect Corp. CEO and founder, Alice Chang.
The subscription-based service works by giving SMBs access to the Perfect Console, a private tracking dashboard where businesses can setup, manage and track analytics reports and integrate AR virtual try-ons online.
YouCam’s virtual makeup try-on technology benefits by simulating physical store try-ons, therefore, boosting consumer confidence, increasing user engagements and click-through-rates, all the while decreasing returns after a sale is made.
The new YouCam for Web service is a cost-effect, self-service solution to help small and medium businesses unlock these benefits of virtual AR try-on on e-commerce. Companies interested in YouCam for Web can try it out for a free 30-day trial before committing to a subscription.
“SaaS (Software as a Service) is the way of the future and YouCam for Web helps to cater to the growing needs of beauty tech solutions across all budgets,” said Alice Chang.
Perfect Corp. plans to showcase the new YouCam for Web service at Cosmoprof North America at in Las Vegas, beginning July 28 through July 30, 2019.
Founded by Taiwanese entrepreneur Alice Chang in 2015, Perfect Corp is the creator of the award-winning YouCam Makeup and YouCam Perfect apps, as well as YouCam Video.
