P&G’s Bruce Brown named among BusinessWeek’s Masters of Innovation

As the leader of P&G’s innovation programme, chief technology officer Bruce Brown has been named one of the 25 Masters of Innovation by BusinessWeek. The magazine created its Most Innovative Companies list based on a Boston Consulting Group survey that asked senior global executives to rank the companies that consistently offer inventive products, customer experiences, business models or processes. In his role, Brown leads a global research and development (R&D) organisation of over 8,000 employees and a nearly USD2 billion annual investment to fuel P&G’s innovation capabilities, organisations and systems and help the company deliver its long-term goals for organic growth, 70-80 percent of which is to be driven by innovation.

Brown is a 30-year veteran of P&G and has led teams in baby care, feminine care and beauty care in both developed and developing markets. As part of his broad R&D oversight, Bruce also directly manages R&D corporate function work, R&D corporate governance systems, and new technology platform development work. In addition, he oversees the company’s Corporate Innovation Fund and FutureWorks organisation and serves as chairman of the Advisory Board of MDVIP, a wholly owned subsidiary of P&G.
