Korea’s cosmetics maker Amorepacific introduced new advanced beauty technologies, including a 3D Printing Mask Pack and LED beauty mask during its first appearance at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
The 3D Printing Mask Pack, which won the CES Innovation Award in the 3D printing category, makes hydrogel mask packs to fit perfectly the user’s face and skin type. The equipment designs the mask in real time and takes five minutes to complete it. It is built to provide customized care on five different facial parts with six different treatments.
The company said the 3D Printing Mask Pack was displayed along with other CES Innovation Award winners for visitors to experience, and attendees were interested in the technology. The 3D Printing Mask Pack will be launched at the IOPE flagship store in Seoul in April.
The tentatively named Light-Emitting Diode (LED) Flexible Patch is another advanced beauty device Amorepacific presented for the first time.
The flexible LED patch is put onto a user’s face and light penetrates the skin to improve tone and tightness while preventing the skin from sagging. The pliable patch can stick tightly to any part of the face, including the neck.
“The device’s strength lies in its light weight and hands-free control. I was glad to try such a customizable skin-care product,” the company quoted a CES visitor as saying. The device will be released next year by its brand Makeon.
“We will continue to make our best efforts to introduce to global customers our innovative solutions that converge the sectors of information technology and cosmetics, which Amorepacific has displayed here at CES 2020,” said Park Won-seok, a senior vice president of the Amorepacific Basic Research & Innovation Division.
Meanwhile, about 180,000 people and 4,500 firms from 161 countries participated in the world’s largest electronics exhibition.
Some 390 Korean companies took part to showcase their innovative technologies in sectors including artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and internet of things (IOT).
