Mydin eyes another 25 supermarkets in Malaysia by 2018

Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd (Mydin), the operator of Mydin hypermarkets, plans to add another 25 supermarkets in Malaysia over the next four years.

Its managing director Datuk Dr Ameer Ali Mydin said the group annually invests about MYR500 million (USD155.4m) to MYR600 million to build new hypermarkets.

"I believe we can achieve over 42 hypermarkets in Malaysia including Sabah and Sarawak by 2018," he told reporters after launching the Mydin Hypermarket in Bertam on Tuesday.
