L'Officine Universelle Buly brings its emporium to Hong Kong

L’Officine Universelle Buly brings its emporium of beauty secrets to Hong Kong.

Founded in 1803, French beauty brand l’Officine Universelle Buly has been revived by the entrepreneurial couple – Ms.Victoire de Taillac and Mr. Ramdane Touhami.

After a thorough reimagining, the legendary French beauty apothecary rises again to embark on a beauty voyage around the world.

Conceived as an emporium of beauty secrets from all around the world, l’Officine Universelle Buly offers beauty products that draw on the most innovative cosmetic techniques while respecting the virtues of natural ingredients.

Envisioned in Paris and formulated in a French laboratory, the brand’s products are nurtured by contemporary cosmetics while being faithful to ancient recipes.

With product offerings ranging from skin care, oral care, perfumes, as well as tools and beauty accessories, every concoction is truly original and respectful.

Most ingredients are harvested from nature or have been produced by mankind since the dawn of time.

The quality, efficacy, and even rarity of the exquisite formulations are the foundations of their worth.

Since the inception of the first store on rue Bonaparte in Paris in 2014, l’Officine Universelle Buly has steadily expanded its footprint in London, New York, Taipei, Seoul, Tokyo, and now Hong Kong (the 8th boutique), in partnership with Mr. Arnault Castel, Founder of kapok.

Inspired by the wooden interiors and ambience of traditional French apothecaries from the 19th century, the design approach of the Hong Kong outpost is filled with classic French quintessence.

The five-metre ceiling height and over 700-square-feet rectangular space allow for the floor-to-ceiling wooden cabinets to be arranged in an oval manner, reminiscent of the ladyfingers which decorate the French cake “Charlotte aux Fraises”.

Upon entering the store, the rustic floor tiles from Italy transports you to an aged chapel which calms your senses and soul. With every detail crafted by French hands, a team of skilled French carpenters was commissioned to build this wooden chapel of apothecary in Wyndham Street in Hong Kong.

To celebrate the brand’s first outpost in Hong Kong, Ms. Victoire de Taillac, Mr. Ramdane Touhami, and Mr. Arnault Castel hosted a grand opening party on September 13, 2017.
