US clothing chain Gap plans to open 10 to 15 stores in Australia over the next three years as part of a big push in Asia to offset soft sales at home, a senior executive said on Wednesday.
A push into Australia is part of a move by global retailers to cash in on growing consumer wealth across Asia.
The company is expanding into Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand this year. It plans to open its first 4 stores in China later this year.
