Five years after it set up its first outlet in India, UK-based coffee retail chain Costa Coffee is ramping up its presence in the Indian market, with a planned strategy of one new cafe every two weeks. This will take the store count up to 75 by the end of the year from the current 50 coffee shops.
Santhosh Unni, CEO of Costa Coffee India, said that malls, high streets and airports in tier I towns would be part of the current expansion plans.
The company is targeting multiple outlets in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai, apart from an expansion in Delhi and Mumbai in the next two to three years.
