Thailand’s Central Pattana Plc (CPN), the SET-listed retail developer under the Central Group, has expanded its new commercial development to include strategic locations able to cash in on expected purchasing power gains after the advent of the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015.

The company will add seven new retail projects worth a combined THB25.3 billion (USD827.7 million) across the country by 2013. Of the seven, five projects will be opened in border trade cities comprising Udon Thani, Ubon Ratchathani, Chiang Mai, Lampang and Hat Yai.

Kobchai Chirathivat, the president and CEO, said CPN will open CentralPlaza Udon Thani on 27 March and CentralPlaza Lampang in December. The Central Udon Thani Hotel already opened.
