US teen apparel retailer Forever 21 has opened its 13th location in the Philippines at the SM City Bacolod mall, early this December.

Having entered the Philippines market in 2010, the California-based fast fashion brand opening is the largest Filipino store to date, covering 8500 square feet.

Located at the ground floor, north wing of SM City Bacolod, the new flagship features the Forever 21 label, as well as the retailer’s sibling brands. These include Forever 21 Contemporary, Forever 21 Men, and Forever 21 Plus.

At the Bacolod mall opening held December 9, the first 200 shoppers were each greeted with a P500 gift card, used to shop the latest apparel and accessories from all brands.

Through its partnership with SM Retail, Forever 21 looks to consolidate its hold in Asia. It comes after an announcement last month that the retailer will close its Hong Kong store in September 2017.

The Hong Kong flagship, located on Causeway Bay’s Jardine’s Bazaar, covers a whopping 50,000 square feet and is deemed too large for the retailer’s needs. However, increased rents and a drop in football, since its 2011 opening, have attributed to the shutter.

Earlier in the year, Forever 21 opened a new store in Mong Kok with around 19,000 square feet of space; much less than the Hong Kong island store, but more than double the size of the new Filipino shop.
