Facebook ties up with Friendster’s Asian parent

Facebook Inc. signed a deal on Thursday with a Malaysian online-payment company to sell credits through prepaid cards, following the lead of other online businesses including Apple Inc.’s iTunes store and Inc.

The partnership makes purchasing Facebook Credits, a virtual currency used for online games and applications, more convenient in Asia, where consumers rely heavily on offline prepaid cards rather than credit cards to purchase digital goods and services.
