Harbourcity has always been the main shopping mall destination for Mainland Chinese tourists visiting the city, being the retail destination for tourists visiting the city with cruise ships and stopping directly at Ocean Terminal, and tourists on a one-day trip via train.

The shopping mall also contributes to make Canton Road the priciest street in the world for retail rents, being together with Landmark home to the main luxury brands.
