Tommy Jeans, a division of PVH-owned Tommy Hilfiger, and AAPE by A Bathing Ape collaborated on a first capsule collection in July 2020. The new capsule fuses AAPE’s streetwear style with TOMMY JEANS’ iconic street prep and features a logo that incorporates the design of both brands. AAPE’s classic camo print gets a new twist in red, white and blue and pairs with the TOMMY JEANS plaid in deep green. Key styles include the camo flag puffer jacket, the 2-in-1 plaid sherpa fleece windbreaker, TOMMY JEANS flag denim jacket and the reversible camo vest jacket.
To celebrates the union of skate culture with fashion, Tommy Hilfiger and AAPE released a documentary-style campaign that follows four New York skaters, Kyota Umeki, Lucinda Jacobson, Brandon Scott James and Hank Korson in some of New York City’s landmarks, including the Lower East Side of Manhattan and Brighton Beach in Brooklyn.
AAPE is a diffusion line that was created by A Bathing Ape in 2012. It is targeted to a younger, hipper customer and its logo is also an updated version of the company’s signature round ape face.
