Starbucks Hong Kong launches new plant-based menu with Impossible Foods

Starbucks Hong Kong announced the launch of its new beverage and food menu items #TasteOfABetterFuture featuring plant-based ingredients, as well as reusable merchandise, on 9th September.

The seasonal offerings includes three coffee beverages featuring different plant-based milk: Almondmilk Nutty Latte, Oatmilk Cocoa Macchiato and Soymilk Sesame Latte; as well as Maize ImpossibleTM Sandwich crafted with ImpossibleTM Sausage Made from Plants, Spiced ImpossibleTM Puff made with ImpossibleTM Burger and Vegan Chocolate Bread Stick.

The expansion of plant-based food and beverage offerings provides consumers with more options, and furthers the company’s commitment to expanding plant-based menu choices, contributes to Starbucks goal to be a resource positive company that gives more than it takes from the planet.

“Having served the Hong Kong community for two decades, we know how important it is for business to reduce its impact on the environment. We have previously introduced a sustainable seafood menu, and phased out plastic straws and stirrers from our stores across Hong Kong and Macau to reduce single-use plastic and cutlery. Every effort counts and that is why we are constantly looking for ways to inspire our customers to make simple positive changes to their daily lives,” said Andrew Hui, General Manager, Starbucks Hong Kong & Macau.

“Our new plant-based menu items – the first in Asia to feature ImpossibleTM Sausage Made from Plants – allows our customers to enjoy delicious food featuring plant-based ingredients. We’re joining hands with customers towards a better future, where we are more mindful of the choices we make in our daily routine,” continued Andrew.

“We are excited to work with Starbucks Hong Kong to present these delicious new dishes made with our newest product ImpossibleTM Sausage Made from Plants and our flagship product ImpossibleTM Burger,” said Heidi Nam, General Manager of Hong Kong, Impossible Foods.

“Impossible Foods’ mission is to make the global food system sustainable by creating the world’s most delicious and nutritious food with plants. We look forward to delighting customers with the new Maize ImpossibleTM Sandwich and Spiced ImpossibleTM Puff,” continued Heidi.

Starbucks is also introducing a new collection of Reusable Silicone Straws in four pastel colors. Available in mint green, baby pink, light yellow and sky blue, the bendable and colorful silicone straws are fun and travel-ready ways to reduce single-use plastic in daily routine.

On 9th September, Starbucks also launched an array of appetizing beverages and Starbucks Signature Desserts for different autumn occasions.

Crafted with a combination of TeavanaTM English Breakfast Tea and sweet ruby grapefruit & honey sauce, the Very Ruby Grapefruit & Honey Black Tea is served with slices of juicy grapefruit for extra texture.

The ice-cold Mango Passion Fruit Frappuccino® blended beverage with Jelly pairs appetizing mango passion fruit juice with Hibiscus Tea, and is topped with sweet chewy mango pulp jellies.

Starbucks is introducing Starbucks Signature Desserts as the highlight of the remarkable feast. The Chocolate Orange Marquise is packed with tangy orange filling and sweet chocolate crunchy pearls, with caramel chocolate cream, candied orange peel and white chocolate. The Basque Burnt Coffee Cheesecake is frosted with rich coffee sauce, finished with a drizzle of white chocolate sauce and a dollop of whipped cream. The Mango Lava Yogurt Mousse Cake is a lemon-flavored yogurt sponge cake covered with mango sauce, topped with yogurt mousse and whipped cream.

Chocolate Orange Marquise, Basque Burnt Coffee Cheesecake and Mango Lava Yogurt Mousse Cake are available in Starbucks Hong Kong stores only. Starbucks RewardsTM members can enjoy the Starbucks Signature Dessert Set, which comes with a cake box and a combination of any three pieces of the Starbucks Signature Desserts, at a special price.

As the count-down to Mid-Autumn Festival has started, Starbucks introduces two merchandise series. Starring moon rabbits and owls playing hide-and-seek, the Mid-Autumn Series comes in a range of mugs, tumblers and containers. The Siren Collection, featuring pink and light blue color palettes, is illustrated with mermaid and seashell patterns.

Starbucks presents Starbucks® Mooncake Gift Set for Mid-Autumn festivities. The mooncake box is adorned with the Starbucks Siren’s mermaid tail in the shape of the waxing full moon. Each box comes with a moon-shaped 3D Paper Puzzle.

Each gift box includes three flavors, with two of each flavor. The creamy Mocha Mochi Mooncake pairs classic espresso with decadent chocolate mochi. The Black Tea Earl Grey Mochi Mooncake incorporates black tea with soft Earl Grey mochi, while the Vanilla Custard Mooncake, inspired by Starbucks Vanilla Latte, intertwines beautifully with the Chinese custard filling for a modern twist.
