Beauty technology company Revieve has expanded its collaboration with luxury cosmetics and skincare brand Shiseido by launching a pioneering AI Makeup Advisor experience for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) market.
The AI Makeup Advisor combines Revieve’s AI Selfie Analysis, AI-powered personalised recommendations, and true-to-life virtual try-on technologies to create what is claimed to be the world’s first digital makeup advisor experience.
The technology is accessible via Shiseido’s website – consumers have to upload a selfie and complete a beauty goals questionnaire. The combined data generates a comprehensive list of recommended products for the eyes, lips and face. Consumers can also virtually try on products with a simple click.
Revieve and Shiseido started working together in 2019 with the launch of the first Skincare Advisor across all Shiseido’s regional markets, followed by an array of beauty and wellness projects.
“While our partnership with Revieve started in the skincare category, we are excited to continue this ongoing collaboration and expand to makeup. Shiseido’s customers can now purchase new products with full confidence and discover a makeup routine that works for them,” said Shiseido EMEA Prestige Director Romain Carrega.
“Delivering these innovations to consumers to pursue beauty and wellness have been part of the Shiseido DNA since day one.”
The Advisor uses zero and first-party data to create an intuitive and bespoke purchase journey while at the same time transforming the way brands understand their consumers.
“Brands and retailers are connecting with their consumers in a whole new way. AI-powered technologies in a traditional industry like beauty and skincare will help guide brands in understanding their consumers and leveraging their needs to market and promote their products in the most tailored way possible,” commented Sampo Parkkinen, Founder and CEO of Revieve.
