A study on consumer’s perception of brands has found that Rolex and Adidas are two of the most reputable brands in the world. These two brands are the only two fashion brands to make the top ten list.
Rolex took the number one ranking as the most reputable company in the world in 2017, thanks to the prestigious reputation of both Rolex’s products and services. Interestingly enough, Rolex has continued to stay in the good graces of the public despite the growing competition of the Apple Watch and other smart watch brands.
Adidas followed behind, sitting at number 10, as the brand’s slew of celebrity collaborations rated well with the public. In addition, Adidas’s recent revival of nostalgic sneakers has placed the brand in a comfortable spot in the sneaker market.
Adidas’s retro-based Originals section grown 80% over 2016. Running sales rose 40%, while football and basketball shoe sales climbed 25%.
The rankings, released by The Reputation Institute, were analyzed based on public perception in seven areas: performance, leadership, citizenship, governance, workplace, innovation, and products and services. The rankings are based on the feedback of over 170,000 respondents.
