Jebsen Group (Jebsen), a leading marketing and distribution organisation for premium products, recently announced plans for its marine division to expand its dealership network in China in response to rising demand for luxury yachts.
Jebsen Marine will have as many as eight new dealers in Beijing and along coastal cities within the next two to three years. In addition, the division aims to open its own new offices in locations that are being developed as national hubs for leisure boating.
Currently operating from Hong Kong as well as Shanghai for the Mainland China market, Jebsen Marine exclusively represents the world’s leading yacht manufacturers, including the renowned Italian brand Riva and the award-winning British brand Fairline. To cater to sailing enthusiasts, Jebsen Marine also markets and distributes established sailing yacht brands like Archambault and Hanse.
As a show of commitment to serving the yachting industry, Jebsen Marine will bring in new Riva and Fairline stock yachts in the coming months, to provide customers with the opportunity to experience them first-hand and even skip the extensive waiting usually associated with yacht delivery. This year, Jebsen Marine will also attend various regional boat shows including the Hainan Rendez-vous and China (Shanghai) International Boat Show in April, as well as Hong Kong Gold Coast Boat Show in May. According to the China Cruise and Yacht Industry Association (CCYIA), boat ownership is expected to grow from its current number of 1,500 to more than 100,000 in the next decade. The Italian Trade Commission has also found that the Chinese yacht market will reach USD10 billion (CNY67.7 billion) by 2020.
"Demand for private yachts has been gaining traction in the four years since we first established this business. We hope the extension of our dealership network in China will help support the industry growth, and at the same time allow more people to experience the yachting lifestyle," said Mark Bishop, Group Director of Jebsen.
