India’s domestic carriers flying high with 22pc growth

Against the backdrop of sustained recovery in the aviation sector, India’s domestic carriers have registered 22.05 percent growth by carrying 162.82 lakh (16.3 million) passengers in the period January-April 2010 as against 133.41 lakh (13.3 million) passengers in the same period a year ago.

Private carrier Jet Airways has maintained its number one position in terms of market share at 25.4 percent in April, with Kingfisher second at 21.4 percent.

Flag carrier Air India has secured the number three slot at 21.4 percent.
