Europe’s largest hotel operator Accor SA aims to quadruple its portfolio in China over the next four years amid rising demand in the domestic travel market.
The Paris-based hospitality giant, which now operates 121 hotels across seven brands in 47 Chinese cities, including Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau, plans to quadruple its China network by 2015, according to Sam Shih, chairman and COO of Accor China, on Tuesday.
Accor also inaugurated on Tuesday its newly-positioned Grand Mercure brand, which has aspects of Chinese culture and authentic European elements.
