One of the latest entrants to India’s car sector, and a resident of Western India, could end up being a force to reckon with in the future.
Volkswagen took its time about entering this market at a time when almost every big name in the global business had set up shop in India. Its subsidiary, Skoda, had, of course, come in a decade ago and has established itself as a value-for-money premium carmaker.
Contrast this to Maruti or Hyundai and Volkswagen almost seems like a dwarf in comparison. Yet, suppliers swear by the "David and Goliath" analogy and insist that the German automaker is destined for big things in India.
