At a time when scooter stalwart Bajaj Auto is announcing its exit from the segment, Suzuki Motorcycles India (SMIL) is planning to double the production capacity at its factory.
The expansion is to catch up with the massive demand for its scooter, the Access 125.
The company’s Gurgaon facility, which currently has a maximum capacity of 170,000 units a year, will be expanded to produce 250,000 units by January in the first stage.
