Renault’s India sourcing falls short of target

Less than 18 months after setting up a huge international logistic network facility near Pune, India, to support global sourcing, French automaker Renault has moved out to a much smaller location in the same vicinity, as components sourcing from India has fallen far short of projections.

According to market sources, the company has exported less than 10 percent of the expected 1,000 containers in 2009, causing it to move out of a customised 100,000 square foot facility.
