Mahindra considers making SUVs for Ssangyong in India

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd is still studying the possibility of assembling two sports utility vehicle models for South Korea’s Ssangyong Motor Co. in India in the next financial year through to March 2012, a senior executive at India’s biggest SUV maker by sales said on Tuesday.

Mahindra, which owns 70.03 percent of Ssangyong, plans to assemble the Rexton and Korando C SUVs at its factory in Chakan, West Maharashtra, said Pawan Goenka, president in charge of Mahindra’s automotive and farm equipment business.
