German car giant BMW – which currently sources components such as gears, castings and assembly parts from India, predominantly for its motorcycles – is now looking to expand its sourcing to cars in the next two years.
India is increasingly becoming an important sourcing hub for global automakers. All the big names like General Motors, Ford, Fiat, Volkswagen and Toyota, among others, have significant sourcing plans for India.
