ITC and Dabur to overhaul strategies for India’s personal-care market

India’s personal-care segment is about to witness a flurry of activity, with ITC and Dabur India chalking out strategies to take on competition, increase market share and expand distribution networks.

ITC plans to extend its manufacturing capacity and invest in research and development projects, new launches and multimedia advertising campaigns.

Dabur India is drawing up a three-pronged growth strategy to sustain its growth momentum in the personal-care segment. Amit Burman, vice-chairman of Dabur India Ltd, says, "We are increasing our distribution network to reach out to the rural market. We have just set up two manufacturing plants in Baddi and Uttarakhand as part of our growth plans."
