Located in New York City’s Chelsea district, the first Google store is set to debut in the summer of 2021 and is designed to be space where customers can experience Google’s hardware and services in a physical realm.
Inside the new experiential store, customers will be able to browse and buy an extensive selection of Google products including Pixel phones and Nest products, as well as Fitbit devices and Pixelbooks, and more. Customers also have the option to shop via GoogeStore.com and pick up their orders in store. In addition to shopping, visitors will be able to experience how Google products and services work together in a variety of immersive ways.
“Google has been in New York for the last 20 years, and we view the store as a natural extension of our longtime commitment to the city. The new Google store is an important next step in our hardware journey of providing the most helpful experience of Google, wherever and whenever people need it,” said the Mountain View, California headquartered company, in a statement.
“We look forward to meeting many of our customers and hearing their feedback on the store, so we can continue to explore and experiment with the possibilities of a physical retail space and build upon the experience,” continued the statement.
The Chelsea Google store will form part of the tech giant’s urban campus in the Chelsea neighbourhood, which is home more than 11,000 Google NYC employees. Google did not disclose if it plans to open more physical retail stores in other key global cities in the near future.
