Thailand’s Oishi enters seaweed war with snack

Oishi Group Plc, Thailand’s leading Japanese restaurant and beverage operator, is branching out into the Japanese-style snack market in a bid to double sales of its food business in the next five years.

Oishi launched the Onori seaweed snack to enhance its market position. The snack is distributed through the network of trading firm Berli Jucker Plc.

"In the future, we will offer rice crackers," said Senior Vice President Mathew Kidothan.
