Earlier this year in March, the Italian luxury men’s apparel brand Stone Island announced on its official Instagram account of its partnership with the sportswear brand New Balance. This month, once again, Stone Island announced a new project alongside Tokyo Design Studio, New Balance’s product innovation hub, on Instagram.
Stone Island | New Balance is a project developed by the creative team of Stone Island, and Tokyo Design Studio – New Balance’s product innovation hub.
TDS is based in New Balance’s Boston headquarters as well as in Tokyo’s storied Nihonbashi Hamacho district, the studio’s global team is responsible for researching and developing forward-thinking products that advance the iconic American brand into the future.
Stone Island | New Balance is a long-term partnership. Known as cultural drivers, both brands share similar values of research and functionality in their respective areas of expertise, and take an analytical approach to innovative data-driven design.

The aim of the project is to exalt the know-how of the two brands, to create products that feature the soul of both, offering performance and comfort. A new aesthetic vision applied to innovative technology.
