Upmarket boutique chain Oroton has defied tough trading conditions that have plagued other retailers to deliver a 24 percent increase in interim net profit to AUD15.4 million (USD14.2 million).
CEO Sally Macdonald said the group refused to succumb to discounting pressures to sell the Polo Ralph Lauren clothing line, unlike other apparel retailers.
The group sells a range of Oroton leather goods and has recently renewed a long-standing licence agreement to market Polo Ralph Lauren in Australia for another five years starting 1 July.
