Sergio Rossi artistic director Evangelie Smyrniotaki departs

Italian luxury footwear brand Sergio Rossi has announced the departure of Evangelie Smyrniotaki as artistic director, following the natural expiration of her contract.

The partnership’s ending was a mutual agreement between parties, according to the Lanvin Group-owned brand.

Appointed to the Sergio Ross role in January 2022, Smyrniotaki has globally guided the brand image strategy and identity redefinition of Sergio Rossi, particularly directing advertising campaigns and content creation. Over the past two years, she has also contributed to the design direction, as well as presenting two successful capsule collections ‘Evangelie Smyrniotaki x Sergio Rossi’.

“It has been a privilege for Sergio Rossi collaborating with such a talented artistic director, Evangelie has been able to shape the image of the brand, preserving its DNA creating a new aesthetic,” said the company.

“Sergio Rossi wants to warmly express its gratitude to Evangelie for her professionalism and dedication and she will always be part of the Sergio Rossi family.”

Founded in 1951, Sergio Rossi produces made in Italy luxury shoes with a distribution network comprising 63 stores in luxury locations across EMEA, Japan, Korea and Greater China.

In August, Lanvin Group said it achieved revenue of EUR 215 million (USD 234 million) for the first half of 2023, a 6.4 percent increase on last year, thanks to surging Asia revenues across its brand portfolio.

By brand, global ​Sergio Rossi revenues surged 22.4 percent to EUR 33 million.
