French multi-brand beauty retailer Sephora recently appointed Benjamin Vuchot as President Asia.

Previously Regional President of North Asia for DFS Group, with over 20 years of experience in Asia and luxury, Benjamin Vuchot, longtime Hong Kong resident, also worked as President Asia for Van Cleef & Arpels and Communications Director for Cartier.

Sephora owns and operates a chain of perfume and cosmetics stores worldwide. The company offers makeup products, skin care products, fragrances, hair care products, bath and body products, and more. Sephora was acquired by luxury conglomerate LVMH in 1997.

The cosmetics company made its way to Hong Kong via its e-commerce site at the beginning of last year.

Sephora opened its first Chinese store in 2005. It has now more than 200 stores across in China. It has over 1750 stores worldwide, in 30 countries and is still expanding.

Sephora shows a strong performance lately, observed Deborah Aitken, an analyst with Bloomberg Intelligence. Sephora continued to gain market share globally and recorded double-digit revenue and profit growth for the last quarter.
