Moschino’s Jeremy Scott departs

Italian luxury fashion brand Moschino is losing its creative director, Jeremy Scott. Aeffe Group, the brand’s parent company, said Scott is leaving his post after a 10-year tenure at the helm of the pop-culture fashion label. No successor has been named.

“These past ten years at Moschino have been a wonderful celebration of creativity and imagination,” Scott said in a news release. “I am so proud of the legacy I am leaving behind.”

Joining Moschino in 2013, Scott was accredited for the brand’s rejuvenation in recent years, thanks to his quirky designs that often riffed on the whimsical and absurd.

He was the third designer to lead Moschino, carrying on from Franco Moschino, who founded the label in 1983. After Moschino’s death in 1994, the label’s creative direction went to Rossella Jardini, who helmed the fashion house for two decades.

He led Moschino alongside his own eponymous label, though he has not presented new collections independently since 2019.

In June last year, Moschino assumed the management of Moschino’s stores in mainland China, which were previously operated by Scienward Fashion and Luxury (Shanghai) Co. Ltd., a fashion brand management group in China.
