​Estée Lauder appoints Nike China head to board

Angela Wei Dong has been appointed to the audit committee and the board of directors of Estée Lauder Companies Inc., beginning 11th July.

Dong presently serves as Nike Inc.’s global vice president and general manager for Greater China. The CEO joined the American sportswear juggernaut in 2005 and has since occupied positions of increasing importance before taking on her current post in 2015.

Dong held a number of management positions prior to joining Nike, including those at Coca-Cola, British American Tobacco, and Procter & Gamble.

“We welcome Angela Wei Dong to our board of directors,” said William  Lauder, Executive Chairman of Nike China. “Angela’s impressive background and experience will provide our board with valuable insights. In addition to her background in finance, Angela brings strong experience in strategic branding and marketing of consumer goods, in particular for Chinese consumers. We are excited that Angela has joined our board.”
