Troy Hickox joins new Conrad Macao as GM

Conrad Hotels & Resorts recently announced the appointment of Troy Hickox as General Manager, Conrad Macao, Cotai Central.  The hotel has been opened yesterday at Sands Cotai Central on Macao’s Cotai Strip.

"I am extremely proud to oversee the opening of Conrad Macao," said Hickox. "We have drawn together an exceptional leadership team and extraordinary team members who are eagerly looking forward to introducing our unique approach to luxury and signature flawless service to Macao. Discerning business and leisure travellers to the Cotai Strip will now be able to enjoy luxury made just for them, or as we call it, The Luxury of Being Yourself."

Hickox brings with him 18 years of international experience honed from management roles, and in particular pre-opening positions, with various luxury hotel brands such as The Peninsula Hotels, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts and Design Hotels.  In addition to his international exposure, Hickox’s Chinese and Australian ancestral heritage provides an excellent platform for him to interact with the diverse cultures in the cosmopolitan city of Macao.

Originally from Sydney, Australia, Hickox has called Hong Kong his home for the last 28 years. He is a graduate of the Swiss Hotel Association colleges and Le Cordon Bleu Ecole de Cuisine, and is also a post-graduate alumnus of Oxford Brookes University Business School in the UK and Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration.

As part of a fully integrated resort city on the Cotai Strip, Conrad Macao guests will have access to all the entertainment, retail, dining, gaming and conventions of Sands Cotai Central, as well as its interconnected properties across the street. Gaming excitement is readily available at two uniquely-themed casinos at Sands Cotai Central, Himalaya and Pacifica. Guests will enjoy the luxury of duty-free shopping at Shoppes Cotai, housing over 600 retails outlets, as well as Macao’s biggest and most exclusive entertainment events at the Venetian Theatre and the 15,000-seat CotaiArena, which host the most famous names in sports, music, awards and other shows.

Aside from its luxurious rooms, Conrad Macao will offer the largest club lounge in the city, four restaurants and bars, its signature Bodhi Spa, and an extensive Conrad Meetings programme.
