China Dongxiang appoints new CEO and executive director

The international fashion sportswear brand enterprise in China, China Dongxiang (Group) Co, Ltd announced last week that Qin Dazhong has been re-designated from his position as the CEO and the chairman of the executive committee of the Company to the vice chairman of the board of directors and remains a member of executive committee. Sandrine Zerbib is appointed as the CEO, an executive director and the chairwoman of the executive committee, all with effect from 29 November 2010.

As a 17-year veteran of China’s sports industry, Zerbib was the former president of adidas Greater China area. Joining adidas China in 1994 as Managing Director, she spearheaded the brand’s business development in China. In 2003, as the president of adidas Greater China area, she initiated adidas’s partnership with the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and further developed China into adidas’s second global market behind the United States. After leaving adidas, Zerbib started her own consulting firm, providing advisory services to enterprises in the fashion and sports industries.

Qin Dazhong, current CEO and executive director of China Dongxiang, will become vice chairman of the board, and will support the executive chairman, Chen Yihong on new business development and governmental affairs, as well as collaborating with Zerbib on business strategy and development.
