Belgian fashion brand Ann Demeulemeester has announced the appointment of Stefano Gallici as its new creative director, following the abrupt departure of former design head, Ludovic de Saint Sernin.

Being promoted from the Ann Demeulemeester ranks, Gallici was previously menswear designer at the brand. Born in 1996, he began his fashion career in Antwerp, Belgium, working as an assistant designer to Haider Ackermann, and then moved on to the Antonioli Group in January 2019.
In 2020, he joined the Ann Demeulemeester fashion house, based in Antwerp, the same year the brand was acquired by the Antonioli Group, established by Claudio Antonioli.
“Stefano immediately demonstrated a strong creativity and a clear vision for Ann Demeulemeester,” said Antonioli. “He represents the DNA of the brand with an eye to the future.”
Gallici will show his first collection for Ann Demeulemeester with a fashion show on September 30, in Paris.
The appointment news comes a few weeks after de Saint Sernin left the Belgian house a little over two months after showing his debut fall 2023 collection for fashion label in Paris.
Likewise, De Saint Sernin’s departure comes just a few days after it was announced that Rhuigi Villaseñor would be leaving luxury house, Bally, after having worked for just two seasons at the Swiss label. Bally said last week it has appointed Simone Bellotti as its new design director.
