A.S. Watson Group announced the appointment of Malina Ngai as Chief Executive Officer, A.S. Watson (Asia & Europe) Ltd., the major holding company of A.S. Watson Group companies.

Meanwhile, she remains as board member and Group Chief Operating Officer of A.S. Watson Group.

Dominic Lai, Group Managing Director of A.S. Watson Group said, “Malina has been instrumental in formulating the Group’s Customer Strategy, driving digital transformation, business analytics as well as developing strategic international partnerships with top suppliers and technology companies.”

“In her new role as CEO of A.S. Watson (Asia & Europe) and Group COO of A.S. Watson, Malina will continue to support me in formulating growth strategies, work closely with all operating businesses in executing the strategies to deliver the group vision in sales and profit, and building a truly customer-centric organisation.”

Malina joined A.S. Watson from our parent company CK Hutchison (formerly Hutchison Whampoa) in 2001. She was appointed Chief Operating Officer in December 2013. From her initial career in corporate communications, she has gradually succeeded international leadership roles across a diverse scope including investment, International Buying, technology, sales operations, marketing, digital, big data, and corporate social responsibilities.

Before ASW, Malina worked in Hutchison Port Holdings and Hutchison Whampoa head office, after being account director in marketing consultancy, and her policy making role in HK government statutory authority in sports.

Malina has an MBA from the University of Leicester UK, a Master of Finance degree from the University of Dublin Ireland, and an undergraduate degree from the University of Canberra in Australia. She was an awardee of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons by the Junior Chamber International Hong Kong in 2000, and a bronze medallist rower at the 1994 Asian Games.
