The Estée Lauder Companies appoints new Senior Vice President Travel Retail Asia Pacific

Global beauty house, The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) announced the appointment of Karen Housman as Senior Vice President Travel Retail Asia Pacific on 16th May, 2022, effective 1st July, 2022.

Housman joined the ELC Travel Retail team in 2017. She is a member of the Travel Retail Leadership Team and was previously the Senior Vice President/General Manager Travel Retail Worldwide for La Mer and Le Labo.

Housman will be in charge of ELC’s brand portfolio, as well as capturing new regional opportunities and providing best-in-class products and customer experiences.

She will also use ELC’s store partnerships and brand awareness in the Asia Pacific area to boost growth and profitability as travel returns.

Her most recent assignment saw her assist La Mer in reaching fourth place in the worldwide skincare category. She also launched Le Labo, a niche fragrance brand, in the Middle East, North America, Asia Pacific, and the United Kingdom travel retail. 

Housman is an advocate for environmental sustainability, diversity, and inclusiveness. She works with ELC’s Travel Retail Division as a Sustainability Champion and has helped to run various sustainable projects in the region.

In addition, she is a member of the New York City Council of the Vital Voices Global Partnership, where she helps invest in women leaders committed to addressing gender inequality, gender-based violence, climate change, and economic disparity.

Housman is a well-known figure in the cosmetics sector, having served as Vice President of Marketing at Amorepacific US before joining ELC. She was in charge of the Amorepacific, Sulwhasoo, and Laneige brands’ marketing and communication initiatives in her position. She has worked with Chanel for 16 years, holding several management positions in the United States and Asia Pacific.
