Australian fast-fashion retailer Cotton On Group has entered the Vietnam market through an exclusive partnership with Imex Pan Pacific Group (IPPG) via the Asian distributor’s Au Chau Fashion and Cosmetics Co. subsidiary.
The Victoria-headquartered Cotton On, which operates the Cotton On, Rubi and Typo brands, said its retail trio would be available to Vietnamese consumers with three stores opening before December.
The first Cotton On Vietname store opened in Ho Chi Minh City at Vincom Thao Dien in the city’s District 2 and covers an area of nearly 400 square metres, according to local media reports.
A second Cotton On store will bow next on 26th November, located in Hanoi-based Aeon Mall Ha Dong.
The partnership serves as Cotton On’s first licensing partnership in the country and sees the affordable fashion retailer becoming the first Australian apparel chain store to enter the Vietnamese fashion market.
Bringing the latest fashion styles at affordable prices to a large emerging fashion market is something the group is “incredibly excited about,” said Cotton On Group in a press release.
“As a customer driven business, we are excited to give customers in Vietnam the opportunity to shop Cotton On through our first store,” said James Lavdas, General Manager of License at Cotton On Group.
“Cotton On is a global fashion and lifestyle brand that is all about casual Australian style. We know there is a growing demand for street/casual wear fashion in Vietnam so we are confident our distinctive product offering will resonate with customers who want access to the most effortless, on-trend
products,” continued James.
Founded in 1991 in Geelong, Victoria, the Cotton On Group owns seven brands, including Cotton On, Cotton On Body, Cotton On Kids, Rubi, Typo, Supre and Factorie with over 1,400 stores in 18 countries.
Founded in late 2010, ACFC, a subsidiary of Imex Pan Pacific Group, specialises in bringing international brands to Vietnam. Its portfolio of international premium fashion, travel and sports brands include Nike, Gap, Banana Republic, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Levi’s and Old Navy.
