Singapore: December consumer price index

Singapore’s consumer price index (CPI) for 2009 rose by 0.2 percent over 2008 due mainly to higher costs of food and healthcare, which more than offset lower costs of transport and communication. Excluding accommodation costs, the CPI fell by 0.5 percent. The CPI for December 2009 was lower by 0.5 percent when compared with November 2009 but remained stable when compared with December 2008.
