Retail sales in Singapore, on a seasonally adjusted basis, increased by 6.0 percent in October 2009 compared with September 2009, attributable to higher sales of motor vehicles.
Excluding motor vehicles, the seasonally adjusted retail sales in October 2009 decreased by 1.9 percent compared with September 2009.
The seasonally adjusted catering trade rose by 1.1 percent in October 2009 over the previous month.
