Malaysian streetwear brand Hype opens largest store in Kuala Lumpur

Malaysian homegrown apparel brand Hype has opened its largest store in Kuala Lumpur’s IOI City Mall, its eighth brick-and-mortar store in Malaysia.

Located on the mall’s lower ground floor, the new Hype store dwarfs its other stores in Kuala Lumpur, offering nearly 2,000 square feet of selling space to elevate its growing presence across the Klang Valley.

Founded in 2012, Hype, which crossed one decade in the market in 2022, aims to ramp up its customer touch points in Malaysia while improving customer experience through ease of shopping, both in-store as well as on omni-channels.

With roots in streetwear clothing and accessories, the brand has since expanded its girls and childrenswear series, spanning collections such as its Signature, Basic, and Seasonal Lines, Hype Junior Club, Raya Capsule, and Hype x MLBB.

Inspired by American subcultures, Hype has gained a following among Malaysian shoppers through its apparel offerings and collaborations with other homegrown brands and local personalities.
