Investment in Indonesia up 40pc in 2Q10

Investment in Indonesia, from foreign and domestic investors, rose 40 percent in the second quarter compared with the same period a year ago, chairman of Indonesia’s Investment Coordinating Board Gita Wirjawan said on Monday.

The increase indicates that strong economic growth and increasing consumer demand is leading more investors to make longer-term bets on the country, which has struggled to attract as much foreign direct investment as regional peers.
