Indonesia’s consumer confidence drops slightly in Mar, says survey

Indonesia’s consumer confidence index dropped slightly in March as consumers expect prices to soar before Ramadan, which will be in June this year, a recent survey by the central bank showed.

Bank Indonesia released a monthly survey on Tuesday (05/04) based on the responses from 4,600 households in 18 cities across the country.

The survey showed that the consumer confidence index stood at 109.8 in March, only slipping 0.2 points from February. Any readings above 100 points indicate that consumers are generally optimistic.
