The U.S. underwear brand, which was recently valued at US$1.6 billion, has inked a local distribution deal with Australian luxury department store, David Jones.

The deal will see Skims’ high-end innerwear pieces stocked both in-store and online across the island nation via David Jones’ extensive retail network.

While the news broke this week, an official launch date in Australia via David Jones has not yet been revealed.

“I am so excited to see Skims launch in Australia and cannot wait for everyone to experience the brand in real life at David Jones,” said Kardashian.

“The quality, fit and feel of our collections are so important and I am thrilled customers will now be able to experience that first-hand,” continued Kardashian.

Founded in 2019 by Kardashian and Swedish fashion executive, Jens Grede, Skims is described as “solutionwear” that caters to a diverse range of humans of varying shapes, sizes and skin tones. Skims inclusive size range goes from XXS to 4XL.

In the last two years, it has garnered a cult following globally, particularly in Australia.

“Skims is already a highly sought-after brand in our market so we are delighted that we can make it accessible for our customers to try and engage with in-store with support from our team of fitting experts, and of course shop via our website,” Bridget Veals, David Jones womenswear and accessories General Manager, told local media about the stockist deal.

Up until now, Australian shoppers could only shop Skims’ products via the brand’s U.S. e-commerce store which came with international shipping delays and costs, as well as difficulties making returns.
