Shopee launches this year’s 12.12 Birthday Sale

Shopee, an e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, closes out the year with its annual 12.12 Birthday Sale in the region.

This year, the 12.12 Birthday Sale boasts a wide variety of products to reward users and their loved ones ahead of the holiday season. Through the 12.12 Birthday Sale, shoppers can also support their favourite local businesses, with 2 times more items being sold by local businesses this year.

In the past year, Shopee has brought fun to users through giveaways and exclusive content, recording over 13 billion engagements and views across its social media channels. This 12.12, users can expect even more entertainment and engagement with a brand-new commercial featuring international superstar Jackie Chan, as well as more giveaways, performances by K-pop group Tomorrow X Together and the launch of the new in-app game Shopee Run.

To celebrate the festive season, Shopee brings its users special deals on Shopee, Shopee Supermarket, Shopee Premium and ShopeePay. In addition to special deals, Shopee celebrates its birthday with virtual experiences and entertainments, including shopping on its carnival-themed virtual shopping street, Shopee Mall Street, trying on beauty products virtually on Shopee BeautyCam, as well as non-stop entertainments on Shopee Live.

This year, many more businesses have ventured online with Shopee, building e-commerce strategies to sustain their livelihoods. For 12.12, Shopee is featuring over 50 heartland merchants and Made With Passion brands.

Shopee is committed to supporting local sellers and helping them thrive by launching #ShopeeCelebratesLocal campaign, a special contest to share and promote local sellers. Users can read and vote for their favourite stories in-app and on Shopee’s social media platforms. Sellers who win will then share their stories on Shopee Live on 12th December.
