Asia-Pacific will surpass North America in e-commerce spending

The e-commerce expenditure of the Asia-Pacific region, with China taking the leading role, will surpass North America this year to become the world’s biggest e-commerce market, FedEx Express said.

The business to customer e-commerce expenditure will reach US$500 billion this year and the number will be over US$1 trillion by 2017, Fedex Express senior officials told a global webcast meeting in Shanghai.

Fedex will keep investing in China and other fast-growing nations, said Michael Ducker, chief operating officer for FedEx Express.
